“Freida Pinto versus the world,” says the punchline on the cover of the August 2011 issue of Interview magazine. The photoshoot is decidedly dark, surreal and yet has a subtle sensuality to it.
In some pictures Freida Pinto appears to have posed topless; the others make an overt nod to the macabre with their blood-red hue. It’s a photoshoot like no other and Freida poses confidently, like a diva coming to grips with her own demons.

Freida added: “He (Dev Patel) made a statement unknowingly once and he said, “Oh, she is like my soul mate,” and we were not dating or anything back then, and it became this big hoopla. Like, “Oh my god! How could he have said that? What does that mean?” But I guess he was right in a way; we are soul mates.”
